The agenda for the Monday, May 13 Huntington City Council meeting has been announced. Council meets at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.

Council's agenda includes a group of second readings that would modify a series of business licensing ordinances. First reading will also be held on submitting an amended Home Rule proposal to the Municipal Home Rule Board, furnishing labor, materials and equipment for Phase III of the Old Main Corridor Project between Tenth and 12th Streets on Fourth Avenue, furnishing Huntington Police with Code Enforcement Vehicles, and providing accessibility ramps as necessary during municipal paving.

Resolutions include approval of the 2013 YR CDBG Action Plan, creating light equipment operator position in the Street Department, honoring the 2012-2013 St. Joe Girls State Championship team, and remembering K-9 officer, "Rio," who passed away this week.

The Community Development Block Grant program administered by the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development has declined from $3 million dollars to $1.6 million for the upcoming fiscal year. Council members will have an opportunity for adjusting the recommendations made by council's  Economic Development Committee. Funding requests totaled $2 million so numerous projects may not receive funding.

The meeting begins following the pledge, prayer and Mayoral reports. An open mike for citizens and council members to present matters not on the published agenda (Good and Welfare) .
