Huntington Actress Returns to New York for Agatha Christie Mystery Role

HUNTINGTON, WV (HNN) – A juicy murder mystery has lured actress Mary (Poindexter) Williams back to a regional off Broadway venue in central New York.

Ms. Williams plays Miss Letitia Blacklock , the owner of a boarding house where a murder will occur. The death is announced by the press before anyone has perished.

Set in 1950, the Leslie Darbon has adapted Agatha Christie’s “A Murder is Announced,” a humorous novel filled with clever subplots, twists, turns, and other chilling and grizzly surprises. Christie’s busybody sleuth , Miss Marple, faces the challenge of solving the whodunit.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Cortland Reparatory Theatre’s production runs August 3-13. Evening performances are at 7:30; 2 p.m. matinees are offered August 5, 10 & 12. Visit the CRT website for detailed ticket information: http://www.cortlandrep.org.

Mary Williams, the wife of Huntington at-large councilman, Steve Williams and MU Theatre graduate, returns to Cortland after last summer’s SALT Award nomination for “Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks” and “I Hate Hamlet” in 2009.
