Huntington Receives Four out of Five Bloom Rating; Gallipolis Places Too

The City of Huntington received its second award Saturday, Sept. 21 at the America in Bloom competition in Orlando, Florida.

Competing in the 30-50,000 population category, Huntington received special recognition. The winning city was Holland, Mich.

Huntington on Thursday won the best video presentation.

Divided into population category and special awards, American in Bloom honored Huntington's Ohio neighbor Gallipolis, too.

Sharing the 2013 Circle of Champion award with Echo, Oregon, Gallipolis won the special award for best hanging basket/container program, sponsored by Bob’s Market & Greenhouses. The John R. Holmes III  Community Champion Award went  to t Beverly Dunkle of Gallipolis, Ohio.

Kent, Ohio won Best Commercial Streetscape.

Echo, Oregon  (UNDER 4,000) 

Estes Park, Colorado (4,001-7,000)

Demopolis, Alabama ( 7,001-12,000);

Holliston, Massachusetts (12,001-18,000);

Calabasas, California (18,001-25,000 );

Winter Park, Florida (25,001-30,000);

Holland, Michigan i( 30,000-50,000) ;

Greater Racine, Wisconsin (over 50,000).
