HUNTINGTON, WV (HNN) -Seated nearby Chance on his airborne flight was another God-gifted learning experience.  Apparently it was the first time Chance had ever flown on an airplane and being a special challenged young teen was openly expressive about his doubt and fear of this mammoth objective.

I'm scared!  WOW... look how big those other planes are. What's that loud noise?" were just a few resonant comments coming from this young...inexperienced traveler.

His eager... but reluctant enthusiasm helped him slowly develop a bit of confidence as the plane lifted off to soar for almost 2 hours above the clouds and into a realm unknown and unexplored by this young voyager.

Thankfully, right next to Chance was seated an understanding ear... one who allowed his fresh approach to boldness enough support and encouragement. This venture became a positive memory for Chance as we heard him exclaim after the usual quick and startling landing... "I could stay on this plane ALL DAY!!"

"You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain."

O God, help me to remember... to trust... to rely on your promise that you are with us always... no matter how high we are low we become.  In all things your listening ear is close by our heart, mind, body and spirit.  Though the immediate consequences of life seem to challenge our well being, you are riding with us through the valley...on the highest mountain  and even when we are... suspended in space. Thank you for allowing us our honest feelings... our words of doubt... our fearful action... our resistance to love and understanding... our lack of hope and trust... our human frailty.  Empower us with healing shalom and help us rest in your peace and faithfulness.  Truly, life in your hands exemplifies love by chance.
