Wind, Rain Leaves Thousands without Power

The weather played an anticipated trick causing Huntington to move its downtown trick or treat party to inside the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.

Storms and wind howled into the Ohio Valley after the witching hour. Lights flickered in Huntington and in other sections, such as around Fifth Street Road, the power went out. A power pole fell at 13th Avenue leaving hundreds in the dark. WSAZ.com reports the courthouse area is powerless, too.

Appalachian Power reported at 4 a.m. that nearly 12,000 customers were without power in Cabell County. More than 10,800 were in the dark in Wayne County.
