HUNTINGTON – The Huntington Police Department is investigating a bar shooting that occurred early Friday, Dec. 13, in downtown Huntington that left one man dead and three injured. Antonio Devon Brown, 25, died after he shot three people.

According to HPD Lt. John Williams, officers responded to a  shooting at 2:53 a.m. at Shoop’s Bar, 1205 4th Ave. Upon arrival, one man was found deceased inside the front entrance of the bar. Three other gunshot victims turned up at local hospitals. Two victims went to St. Mary’s Medical Center, while another went to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased man had been inside the bar prior to the shooting when he became involved in an altercation with a woman. Bar employees ejected the man. During this process, the man produced a handgun and began firing toward the main area of the bar.

A bar employee who had a concealed weapon then shot the deceased man. The bar employee was taken to the Huntington Police Department for questioning. The case will be further reviewed by the Cabell County prosecutor.
