Mooney Calls Obama's Opportunity Code for Raising Taxes

Updated 5 years ago Edited from a Press Release

Martinsburg, WV - Today, Alex Mooney, conservative Republican candidate for Congress in West Virginia’s Second Congressional District, offered the following statement in response to President Obama's State of the Union Address.

“What President Obama called ‘opportunity’ tonight is really just a code word for bigger government, higher taxes, and more regulation,” Alex Mooney said. “If President Obama really cared about creating opportunity for West Virginians, he’d put an end to the War on Coal, reduces taxes, and repeal the train wreck that is Obamacare. Instead he has done the opposite.

“If elected to Congress, I will be a relentless fighter for true opportunity for West Virginia, and that means fighting for the freedom to keep our coal jobs, keep our health care plans, and keep our hard-earned dollars.”

Candidate Alex Mooney, his wife, Grace, and their children reside in Charles Town, West Virginia. Mooney is taking his campaign to defend conservative values to every part of West Virginia's Second Congressional District.
