Huntington Police Charge Go Mart Robbery Suspect

A police canine's nose helped arrest a Go Mart robbery suspect who is now lodged in the Western Regional Jail. Marcellus D. Williams (32) of Cleveland, Ohio, has been charged with first degree robbery in connection with the Saturday, May 17 incident, according to Huntington police Lt. John Williams.

At about 6:33 a.m. cashiers at Go Mart, 10th St. W. and Washington Avenue, reported that a black man had entered the store, brandished a hand gun demanding money from the register,  and fled after receiving a small amount of cash.

Officers , including the canine, arrived, the dog initiated a track, and found the suspect at Adams Landing Apartments in the 800 block of Virginia Avenue.  Police are continuing to search for the weapon; however, money and clothing linked to the robbery have been recovered. No one was hurt.
