Meteor Shower Puppies Available in Summers County

Monday May 5th was an awesome evening for viewing the Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower. It was also the day in which a family turned in two big clunky puppies to Summers County Humane Society. Big brother ‘Aquarid’ was quickly adopted, but sister ‘Astra’ is still looking for a forever home.

On May 17th Astra got to hang out in town while the Humane Society took part in an Armed Forces Celebration in Hinton. She really enjoyed having her picture taken with Mini Mike of the Miner’s baseball team and especially loved a hug from Miss West Virginia, Miranda Harrison.

Astra is a Boxer and Saint Bernard mix. At five months old she already weighs 45 pounds. She is all puppy and loves to romp in the backyard of her foster home. Astra especially loves children and thinks cats are pretty cool to hang out with. She gets along with just about anyone and love to play with dogs of any size. She is pretty good on a leash and already knows the command ‘sit.’
