Huntington City Council holds its work session, Thursday, June 5, in preparation for Monday night's council meeting. Mayor Williams will be introducing two ordinances related to stormwater. One will reduce the municipal service fee by 10%. The other will established a proposed rate structure for a stormwater fee.

The Mayor will explain the proposals during the work session, which includes a flat water quality service fee $7.15 for residential and nonresidential customers. Those on assistance would be eligible for discounts. This structure would be in effect for two years.  After two years, non-residential customers would pay based on square footage.

In addition, the Huntington Sanitary Board has a SPECIAL CALL meeting, Friday June 6 at 10 a.m. in City Council Chambers to discuss the stormwater ordinance. It will be streamed and televised.

The Monday 7:30 p.m. meeting in council chambers will be broadcast live on Channel 24 and streamed live on the internet.
