Huntington City Council meets Monday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Council chambers at Huntington City Hall. They have a work session Thursday, June 19 at 4 p.m. to discuss their agenda.

The most significant items on the agenda concern restructuring of the Municipal Service Fee and creation of the Water Quality Board with a $7.15 per month fee for all property owners.

Prior to the the fee restructuring and implementation proposals, council considers the rezoning of 17 parcels from R2 to C1 (Commercial). Brianne Shell, planner, explained that the Ronald McDonald House wants to lease its third floor perhaps to a dialysis center. For consistency the rezoning would apply to certain properties on Williams Avenue, Franklin Avenue, and 1537-9 18th Street.

The Planning Commission recommended the change without dissent to council.
