Alzheimer’s Association to Host Professional Training

The Alzheimer’s Association, West Virginia Chapter will present a professional training, Alzheimer’s Disease: The Basics of Best Care on August 25 at the Alzheimer’s Association’s Charleston office, located at 1601 2nd Ave. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., and workshop begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. West Virginia nursing and social work CEU’s are available for professional caregivers through the CAMC Health Education and Research Institute.

 

The 2-hour training meets the state mandated requirements for Alzheimer’s disease education in long-term care facilities and is appropriate for all caregivers.  The training session will cover basic information about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, effective communication, and will address common behaviors and appropriate activities.
