HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall is looking to build on the momentum it gained from playing the No. 7 ranked team in the nation, Charlotte, to a 0-0 draw Tuesday at Hoops Family Field. The 49ers were additionally ranked as the No. 1 team in the NCAA’s power rankings for the week of Oct. 20. The Herd had several chances to score the winner, most notably with two chances from sophomore midfielder Daniel Jodah (Mississauga, Ontario), but the team went on to preserve a crucial draw with overall team defense.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN PANTHERS
FIU is 4-7-1 this season and is looking for its first win in Conference USA (0-4). However, the team has a few close, high-scoring losses. That includes a 3-2 loss to UAB, a 5-4 loss to South Carolina and a 4-3 loss to Charlotte.
Quentin Albrecht leads the Golden Panthers with seven goals and one assist.
THE GRAY AREA

Coach Bob Gray on FIU Game:
“FIU is a very talented team and may be one of the more skillful in the conference. Every coach I talk to says just how good they are going forward. They may be leading the league in goals scored, but they also can give up some goals as well. A lot of that I’d say is attributed to a new coaching staff and a young team, like we have.”

“They have a great striker from Germany (Albrecht) who has been a handful in years past and will be tough to defend tomorrow. It’s a big game for both of us. They lost two tough matches where they were ahead by several goals and they are looking for a win if they want to make the tournament. We have to get some pints as well so we don’t go to New Mexico needing points and results.”
