Office of Research Integrity to present ‘Conflicts of Interest in Clinical Research’ workshop
The workshop will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. in Room G403 of the Robert C. Byrd Center for Rural Health at the Marshall University Medical Center in Huntington.
The workshop will include an overview of clinical trial agreements with a focus on managing conflicts of interest arising in connection with clinical research in hospital settings. The discussion will include new mandated disclosures to be in place by 2013 as part of the new federal healthcare plan.
The session will be led by attorney Amy Cahill of the firm Stites & Harbison PLLC in Louisville, Ky. Her practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling, and licensing and transactional matters. She has represented major clients in the healthcare, beverage and automotive industries before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in U.S. District Court. Her healthcare work focuses on new drug and device commercialization through clinical trial contracting, including protection of resulting intellectual property.
The workshop is free, but reservations are requested. Send reservations to amy.melton@marshall.edu. For more information, contact Amy Melton at 304-696-4365.
