Carson City, NV (PRNewswire-USNewswire) -- A new Nevada-based organization, Independent Nevadans for Change, officially launched today its political effort to defeat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV in 2010 with the release of its new website: DumpReid.com.
"Democrats, Republicans and independent voters don't often agree on much," said longtime political activist Chuck Muth, director of the Dump Reid project, "but a growing number from all philosophical walks of life agree that it's time to change Nevada's senior U.S. senator."
Independent Nevadans for Change is an IRS 527 organization which will use the Internet to recruit opposition and raise money for TV, radio, direct mail and other traditional campaign activities for the 2010 campaign.
The DumpReid.com website and blog was developed by Eric Odom, a web strategist and online social media expert with deep Nevada roots. Odom notes that many on the left are just as dissatisfied with Harry Reid as those on the right.
Muth said he welcomes out-of-state efforts to oust Reid next year, but added, "We Nevadans know Harry Reid. We know the players. We know the issues. We know the electorate. And while voters around the nation understandably want to dump Harry Reid, it ultimately will have to be done by Nevadans themselves. That's why I established this in-state group dedicated to 'daschling' Harry Reid next year."
That's a reference to the 2004 defeat of then-Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-South Dakota).
"Dumping Harry Reid won't be easy," concluded Muth, "but to borrow a phrase: 'Yes We Can!'"
