Tickets On Sale March 3 for 'Back to the Bottle' Red Carpet Dinner Premiere

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Tickets for the red carpet premiere of Francesca E. Karle’s newest docu-drama go on sale March 3. The $25 tickets cover a Mediterranean dinner, the showing of “Back to the Bottle,” appearance by MTV and VH1 celebrities and a performance by George Huff (“American Idol”).
 
The alcohol addiction awareness raising film will be the opening night highlight of the Appalachian Film Festival which runs Thursday, April 17 through Saturday, April 19 at the Keith Albee Performing Arts Center.
 
Similar to the premiere of “We Are Marshall,” bleacher seating will open at 5 p.m. with free refreshments and a live radio remote.
 
General seating ticket holders can enter the Red Carpet area starting at 6:15 p.m. at the corner of Tenth Street and Fourth Avenue. Dress for attendees will be semi formal or formal attire. Ticketholders will be served dinner inside the theatre between 6:15 p.m. -7:15 p.m. The Mediterranean dinner will be donated by area restaurants --- Rocco’s, Sodexo at Marshall, the Pullman Plaza Hotel Catering, Brunetti’s Bakery, Uno Chicago Grille, Bob Evans, Heiners Bakery, Pepsi and Starbucks.
 
Actors from “Back to the Bottle,” its director Francesca (“On the River’s Edge”) Karle, celebrities such as Ashley McNeely of MTV’s “A Shot At Love” and David Otunga of VH1’s “I Love New York II,,” and musical entertainers will walk the carpet beginning at 7:15 p.m.
 
Inside the Keith, Tim Irr will be master of ceremonies for the evening. Tim White Youth Empowerment Leader for Cabell County will lead off the evening followed by local and national recording artists whose songs are featured in the film.
 
Written by Karle, the theme song for the film will be performed by Rick Ruggles of the Saturday Night Jamboree. Local artists Eddie Riffe and Tony Maynard of ETA will be singing a featured song. National recording artist George Huff, of American Idol fame willl perform also.
 
“Back to the Bottle” will go on screen at approximately 9 p.m. Following the 45-minute film, Gov. Joe Machin (or a representative) and Ann McGee of the Cabell County Substance Abuse Prevention Partnership.
 
Tickets may be purchased at the United Way on Madison Avenue, Midway Barber Shop on 1st St- 4th Ave, First Sentry Bank 8th Street or to charge tickets by phone contact Corey at (304) 523-2764. Tickets go on sale March 3, 2008.
 
Major sponsors for the premiere include Walmart Supercenter Route 60, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Trifecta Productions, Clear Channel Communications-WKEE and WTCR, The Herald Dispatch, Brickstreet Mutual Insurance, Bulldog Creative Services, Huntington Regional Film Commission and Oasis Behavioral Health Services.
 
Proceeds, above costs, will benefit the Cabell County Substance Abuse Prevention Partnership. Ms. Karle’s “On the River’s Edge” on the homeless in Huntington has won awards at several film festivals. She has appeared on numerous nationally syndicated talk shows as well as CBS News This Morning.
 
The Appalachian Film Festival spotlights a juried selection of independent films from the 13 state Appalachian area. It concludes on Saturday with an Awards banquet in which winning filmmakers receive uniquely crafted Blenko “Appys.”
