Huntington (HNN) – To celebrate HNN's new capacity to offer streaming video, we have received permission from indie producer and actress Dani (McCall) Englander to show a short, behind-the-scenes video of "Two Fireflies," which was shot in Virginia and is currently in the editing process.
"Fireflies" tells the story of Claire, a woman who's convinced she's doomed to die by her next birthday based on family genetics. She meets an older widower who's struggling to reenter the dating world. In Englander's words, "They form an unlikely friendship and help each other look differently at life. They end up friends who help each other to healthier stages in their lives ... by recognizing what the other person is doing wrong , even though they can not see their own flaws."
Credits for this "behind the scenes" look go to Mike Grebb for shooting, editing and music. "Two Fireflies" was produced by Mabel Vixen Productions. Englander, who hosted a show on Discovery Science, invites you to preview the indie production. "It's a great reminder of how much fun we had during production," Englander said.
Since "Two Fireflies" continues undergoing editing, the specific release has not yet been determined, but Englander intends to take it to several film festivals.
