RUTHERFORD ON FILM: Free Summer Morning Movies at Many Southern WV Cineplexes

Huntington (HNN) – Families who have weekday mornings available can escape to area cinemas for a series of free Summer Kids Movies.
 
The films are naturally family friendly and range from classics like "The Wizard of Oz" to Christmas hits such as "The Polar Express" or last summer's blockbuster "Shrek 2."
 
Teays Valley Cinema 10 begins their series at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday June 7 and Thursday June 9 with Judy Garland in "The Wizard of Oz." The new stadium seating theatre at the Winfield exit of I–64 continues with "Polar Express (June 14 & 16), "Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban" (June 21 & 23), "Scooby Doo 2" (June 28 & 30), "Garfield" (July 5 & 7), "Sponge Bob Square Pants" (July 12 & 14) ; "Fat Albert" (July 19 & 21); "Shark Tale" (July 26 & 28); "Are We There Yet" (Aug. 2 & 4) and "Shrek 2" (Aug 9 & 11).

WKEE , V100 , The Greater Huntington Theatre Corporation, the Keith Albee and Park Place Stadium Cinemas (Charleston) host the "Free Kids Flix 2005" series beginning June 15 in the main auditorium of the ornate theatre. The shows are at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. The balcony of the Keith Albee will be open for all films. The City of Charleston is sponsoring the series at Park Place.
 
The lineup begins with "Sponge Bob Square Pants" (June 15) and continues with "Because of Winn–Dixie (June 22), "Shark Tale" (June 29), "Are We There Yet?" (July 6), "Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events" (July 13); "Shrek 2" (July 20); "Fat Albert" (July 27) and "Garfield" (Aug 3).

Marquee Cinemas begins their Kid's Summer Movie Series in late June. Marquee in Charleston, Huntington, Beckley, offer a choice of two free movies at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesdays.
 
The Beckley series begins June 21 & 22 with a choice of "Polar Express" and "Harry Potter, Prisoner of Azkaban. "
