Crawley, WV (HNN) -- The Alpine Shoppe opened at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 after a longer-than expected hiatus to renovate the shop. Shoppers and tourists will find the shop very inviting.
A lot of hard work has gone into the shop by owners Henry and Penny Bivens and Shop Manager Tracey Peake, despite three family deaths and extensive repairs that were unanticipated.
Rainelle artist Sharon Johnson has her famous art in the shop. Additional artists from the Greenbrier Artists group and others around West Virginia will be featuring their art in the shop very soon.
Rainelle's Andrea Aide Pendleton has her “Andrea’s Garden” series of hand-pressed floral cards/prints available for sale.
Fenton, Blenko and West Virginia glass, West Virginia souvenirs, wedding and baby gift baskets, birdhouses, candles, confections, a Christmas shop, and more are featured in the new shop.
The Alpine Shoppe welcomes all West Virginia artists, crafters, woodworkers and others to feature their items in the shop on a consignment basis. It’s a win-win situation for both. There is a phenomenal amount of talent in the hills of West Virginia and The Alpine Shoppe would like to feature and sale those “West Virginia-made” items year-round.
