Award Winning Local Filmmaker Tackles Alcohol Addiction with 'Back to the Bottle'

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Congratulations to director and Marshall University student Francesca Karle --- the directing ‘bug’ has once again bitten.
 
After having received accolades and national appearances on talk shows for her homeless documentary “On the River’s Edge" Karle now tackles a component of homelessness --- alcohol addiction.
 
Described as “one man’s struggle” with drinking, auditions for “Back to the Bottle” will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 15 in Room 104 of MU’s Corbly Hall.
 
According to the release from the West Virginia Film Office, “previous acting experience” is preferred but not a necessity. Participants on the project will not be paid, but “refreshments will be provided.”
 

Here are the casting needs for the film:
 


- one male, 7-10 years old, very thin, dark hair;
 
- several females, ages 20s-30s, slender blondes and brunettes;
 
- several males, ages 20s-30s, and one particularly very thin, black hair and eyes;
 
- two tall, muscular African-American men;
 
- several males, ages 40s-50s, long hair, beards, slender
 


Karle’s “On the Rivers Edge” had its premiere at the Keith Albee Theatre as a benefit for the homeless on the riverbank. Many of the homeless played themselves and were given star treatment for the showing.
