Charleston, WV (HNN) – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has teamed up with two local car dealerships for their Dream Home Giveaway. The car dealers, Logan Chrysler Jeep-Dodge-Suzuki and Charleston Pre-Owned Supercenter, have donated a 2008 Suzuki to St. Jude’s to add to their Dream Home Giveaway, scheduled to be raffled on June 22, 2008.
Charles Rashid, owner of the dealerships, says the winner will receive their choice of a new 2008 Suzuki Reno or a new 2008 Suzuki Forenza.
“We are very proud to be a part of this great cause and a partner in our community," Rashid said. "When St. Jude wins, everyone benefits from their research. They share their results and that is huge.”
In addition to the 2008 Suzuki donation, Tim Fortune, general manager of the dealerships, also issued a public challenge to raise even more money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
During the month of May, Logan Chrysler Jeep-Dodge-Suzuki and Charleston Pre-Owned Supercenter will donate an additional $5.00 to the hospital for every person who test drives a new Suzuki and requests to “drive for the children.”
Fortune added, “We want to get the public involved as we also show our own community support for such a great, great organization; and better yet, this test-drive will cost nothing but a small amount of the public’s time. Let's all get involved in helping the children of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.”
Fortune explained that Suzuki is an up and coming auto manufacturer, although most citizens have long heard of Suzuki motorcycles.
