Cabell Huntington Hospital Sponsors Medical Explorer Post Program on Wednesday

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Cabell Huntington Hospital invites high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in the medical field to participate in a Medical Explorer Post at the hospital.
 
The post meetings begin Wednesday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m., inside the hospital’s entrance at the Marshall University Medical Center.
 
This first event will focus on the field of Radiology. Students and parents will tour the Cabell Huntington Hospital Radiology Department and learn how medical imaging technologies like X-Ray, CT (computed tomography) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) play a role in health care. Students will also be able to see a live fetal ultrasound.
 
Medical Explorer is a program for students ages 14-20 who are interested in medical services. Students will take part in workshops, hands-on experiences and they will listen to guest speakers from Cabell Huntington Hospital. Medical Explorers will meet once a month and each session will last about one hour.
 
A $7 annual registration fee is due at the first event.
