Downtown Depot Adds Woodturning Demonstration to CAFÉ

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- Saturday June 29 marks the first Children’s Art Festival Extravaganza and The Downtown Depot at 401 Ninth Street Plaza is hosting an additional creative opportunity for children and adults as well. From 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Depot artisan Charles Brown will demonstrate woodturning on the vintage pole lathe he designed and built. Participants will be encouraged to try the skill themselves.
The store regularly sells Brown's handcrafted bowls, bottle stoppers, candle holders and weed pots. Brown was an exhibitor at the Mountain State Arts & Crafts Fair for many years and now serves on its Board of Directors. His work is found at Tamarack where he is also a frequent demonstrator.
