Girl Scout Cookie Sale Kicks off Thursday at Huntington Mall

It's that time of year again --- Girl Scout Cookie Time! Girl Scouts from the Huntington area will officially kick-off this year's sale, Thursday, January 8, 2009, 7:00 p.m. at the Huntington Mall.
Girls will put their tower building skills to the test with a cookie tower building contest. The cookie tower building will challenge the girls to use their skills of team work and creativity to see which grade level can build the most unique tower of cookie boxes.
Susan Nicholas, WSAZ anchor and a local Girl Scout leader will be the emcee for the event along with a team of celebrity judges.
The annual cookie sale begins on January 9th and continues until January 26th. Area Girl Scouts will be taking orders during the cookie sale for eight different cookies.
Those attending the cookie kick-off can sample this year's new cookie Dulce de Leche, a shortbread cookie with caramel chips and caramel stripes. Cookies are $3.50 per box.
The annual cookie sale offers Girl Scouts the opportunity to earn money to support their troop activities and also teaches them about money management while building confident young women.
The public is invited to the Macy's Dome at the Huntington Mall for the cookie kick-off Thursday, January 8th.
