Huntington (HNN) — If you're looking for a great hang-out, then try Kool Beans, the newest Coffee House to hit the City of Huntington. Having been opened just a few short weeks now, Kool Beans looks to cater to those devotees of Espresso-based drinks that crave atmosphere and a quality coffee.
"We've got the best darn coffee in town," says Sheila, sister of the owner. "We grind our coffee fresh every day. Our House brand is a Columbian Supreme roasted in Ybor, Florida. We also have deserts, like Cheesecakes, Brownies, Pastries, and Muffins, as well as Pepsi Products."
Sheila said that Kool Beans hosts a number of entertainment theme-nights:
— Monday: Chess Tournament
— Tuesday: Pajama Party
— Wednesday: Poetry
— Thursday: Open MIC Night
— Friday: Old School Blues
— Saturday: Jam Night - everyone welcome to join in!
" The Pajama Party is our Chick-Flick night for the girls. We have published poets come to our Poetry Night. We also have Tony the Buffalo Soldier", a real Jazz & Blues Musician who plays on Friday Nights at 8pm.
Q: "What was the Inspiration for this type of shop?"
A: "In Florida, where we moved from, there were coffee houses on just about every corner. But the Inspiration shop for my brother's wife was the Java Junction, especially the atmosphere."
Q: "What are the plans for Kool Beans in the future?"
A: "Once the construction is finished out front of the shop,
our hours will go back to 9am-12 midnight. Plus, we look to open the downstairs this summer. My brother plans to get a liquor license and put a bar downstairs, as well as pool tables."
Sheila and Kool Beans can be found at 622 20th St. You can reach them by phone at (304) 522-0272, and their hours of operation are 4pm-Midnight Monday-Saturday, and closed Sunday. A copy of their flyer is available to download by Clicking Here.* (View Pictures)
