LETTER TO THE EDITOR: 'Pay It Forward' Students Seeking Donated Housing, Service Projects
Hi, my name is Susan Suwalski. I am leading a High School Pay it Forward Tour in February 2009 through an organization called Students Today, Leaders Forever. It's a 5 day bus trip that goes cross country serving communities and spreading positive energy. Our tour will be starting at Elgin High School in Elgin, IL. Our bus of 30-40 students will be reaching Huntington, WV in the evening of February 14th, 2009 and departing in the afternoon on February 15th, 2009.
I am looking for housing for our students for that evening and a service project for the morning. In the past our participants have stayed in donated housing in churches, recreation buildings, and schools around the country---thanks to the kind in the communities we have visited. Our service projects have been anything from volunteering at nursing homes, reading to children, cleaning up outside, painting animal shelters, etc. Our students come ready and willing to serve the community in any way that they can. Please let me know if you can help me in the planning of this stop on our journey and if not, if you know of someone in the community who would.
For more information you can email me at susan.suwalski@gmail.com, reach me by phone at 847-909-8014, or check out our website at www.stlf.net.
We look forward to serving Huntington, WV!
Thank you,
Susan Suwalski
