Huntington, WV (HNN)--Although the river search for the body of two-year-old Dakota Jenkins has been
postponed until water conditions improve, West Virginia State Police obtained a
search warrant for the trailer of Tonya Sloan and her boyfriend, Anthony Milam.
According to court records, police sought anything that could be used to conceal
or destroy the body and various tools that may have inflicted injuries upon the
toddler. WCHS TV reported that a boot has been found by nine mile bridge in
Lincoln County.
Thursday night, WSAZ-TV interviewed accused killer Anthony Milam at the Western
Regional Jail where he said that he was not at home at the time of the child’s
death.
Meanwhile, nothing more has been said regarding a report by WOWK TV concerning
the possibility that the accused Sloan had three children of her own that had
not been seen recently seen by one neighbor. It is unclear whether these could
be the three children of Dakota’s mother, Amy White. Reports have not been
issued by police or other agencies concerning that report.
Also on Friday, WSAZ stated that the missing infant was not autistic, but had a
speech impediment.
Thursday sonar did reveal a promising discovery sixty feet under water, but due
to the cold and swift waters, divers could not reach the object. The Corps of
Engineers and the US Coast Guard have been cooperating by holding some water
back at dams along the river , but after the rains on Wednesday and Thursday,
they had to release water.
Sloan and Milam have their preliminary hearing scheduled January 6 in Cabell
County Magistrate Court.
