TRUE CRIME: Eight Arrests Following Large Brawl at Matrix; Man Robbed of
Pants, Underwear and…Two Dollars!

BREAKING NEWS… Huntington police are tracking two suspects in and around
28th Street after a man was stabbed in the stomach.
Police on Monday evening, Jan. 2, 2006 are looking for a white male, 5'8"
with blonde hair and wearing a Raiders jacket , as well as a white male with
long black hair and wearing a black jacket.
The condition of the victim is not known.
Huntington, WV (HNN) --A large fight that spilled outside of The
Matrix into the 800 block of Fourth Avenue around 3 a.m., Jan. 1,
2006resulted in three arrests for possession of controlled substances
and five
for disorderly conduct.
Police called for extra back up after one of the men was identified as
possibly having a gun. It is unknown from the police report whether a weapon
was located.
Those arrested include:
- Steffon Burks, 27, for possession of 1.8 grams of cocaine with
intent to deliver, battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct
- Ronnie Turner, 26, for possession of 7 grams of marijuana
- Reco Tubbs, 23, for possession of marijuana
- Kimba Hisson, 23, of South Point, Ohio, for obstructing
Arrested for disorderly conduct were: William Meadows, 28; Mercer Turner,
40; and Harold Porter, 25.
APPARENT STRAY BULLET PIERCES THIRD FLOOR OF RESIDENCE
Between 3:00-3:30 a.m., a 44-year-old resident of the 1500 block of McCoy
Road reported a bullet hole on the third floor in the playroom of his
residence. After observing a cruiser below in the parking lot of Ritter Park,
the resident requested that the officer investigate. He found a small item
on outside wall, but inside there was a one-and-one-half inch in diameter
hole on the inside wall as well as two smaller holes on adjacent walls.
BOYFRIEND ARRESTED FOR BEATING AND FORCING WOMAN TO DRINK LAUNDRY
DETERGENT
For three hours a 20-year-old woman advised that her boy friend hit her in
the forehead and made her drink laundry detergent at a residence in the 400
block of Sixth Avenue.
The dispute started when the woman asked her boyfriend if he had been with
another woman. She suffered a swollen shut left eye and a busted upper lip.
Richard Pardue, 21, was arrested in the 900 block of 9th Avenue on a
domestic battery charge.
MAN WALKING ON ADAMS LOSES PANTS OVER TWO BUCKS
While walking about 5:30 a.m. Jan. 1 in the 2300 block of Adams Avenue, a
23-year-old man was intercepted by two black men in a silver Dodge Intrepid.
The black men jogged up to the white man, put him on the ground, kicked him,
took his wallet and made him remove his pants, socks and underwear. They
then ran back to their car and drove away.
The victim did not know if the assailants had a weapon. He had $2 in his
wallet.
FOUR WOMEN ATTACKED AT ICON
Four female victims complained that they had been assaulted at about
2 a.m. Jan.
1, 2006 while inside the Icon, 817 Fourth Avenue. One victim was punched in
the face, the second one was struck in the upper chest, the third woman was
punched in the upper jaw, and the fourth tried to break up the fight and was
punched by the club bouncer.
RIFLES, REVOLVERS, MAGNUM TAKEN FROM HIGH STREET
A resident of the 500 block of North High Street reported that an unknown
suspect broke into his gun safe and took weapons valued at more than $5,000,
including a Taurus .44 magnum, Remington 12 gauge automatic, a Winchester 16
gauge pump action, and at least nine others.
ARRESTS
The following are among those arrested by members of the Huntington Police
Department:
- Billy Cremeans, 26, of Point Pleasant, wV, for possession of a
controlled substance with intent to deliver
- Tammy Fraley, 39, of Ashland, Ky., in the 1900 block of 10th Avenue
on a fugitive from justice (grand larceny) from Boyd County, Ky., and
obstruction
- Gregory Yates, 27, in the 4500 block of Magazine Avenue, for
possession of marijuana
- Necco Wintz, 24, of Milton, WV, for DUI following an accident at
the intersection of 31st Street and Fifth Avenue. The driver also faces
several additional misdemeanor offenses
- Lisa Davis, 26, in the 1400 block of 7th Avenue, for misdemeanor
possession of a controlled substance
- Robert Percy, 18, in the 1600 block of Doulton Avenue for a stolen
automobile and a fugitive from justice warrant
- Norman Ross, 35, in the 200 block of Main Street, for a felony
capias, a misdemeanor capias and brandishing a concealed weapon
- Tim Adams, 36, turned himself in at the Cabell County Courthouse on
a malicious wounding warrant
- Chanse Adkins, 20, in the 900 block of 20th street, for possession
of a controlled substance and a capias
- David Miller, 31, in the 100 block of Norway Avenue, on a domestic
battery warrant

The following are among items listed as stolen to the HPD:
- 100 catalytic converters and 100 radiators from Ducky's Auto
Parts, 444 West Third Avenue, after suspects apparently scaled a fence and
tossed the items over it. The converters have a value of $100 each and the
radiators are worth about $70 each.
- 1993 Dodge Caravan from the 300 block of Staunton Street
- Sony PlayStation II from the 800 block of Virginia Avenue
