TRUE CRIME: Domestic Dispute Leads to Stabbing, Fracture?

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- Responding to a stabbing in the 300 block of 39th Street at approximately 11:35 a.m. March 2, 2006, officers found a woman with a severe left hand injury. According to the woman, a man had kicked her in the back causing her to fall of the front porch and break her small finger.
 
The 43-year-old woman had apparently been told by the 53-year-old man to pick up her belongs in the 300 block of Prospect Street. When she came to get them, he started yelling and screaming at her. A kitchen knife was found on the living room floor which appeared to have blood on it.
 
Officers arrested Sam Burdette for domestic battery, while the victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
 
PHONE CALL LEADS TO BOMB SCARE AT PRE-SCHOOL
 
A pre-school teacher at Altizer pre-school answered the phone in the school room and an unidentified male told her that a bomb had been planted.
 
The incident which occurred about 2:13 p.m. Feb. 28 resulted in the evacuation of the pre-school to a nearby church building.
 
The police report indicated that the man asked the teacher, “Who is this?” After identifying the school, the man said, “Uhh, you better get the kids out, there is a bomb in there.”
 
Police found no devices at the school.
 
ARRESTS
 
The following are among those individuals arrested by members of the Huntington Police Department:
 
- Bruce Hargis, 20, in the 200 block of Adams Avenue, on two outstanding felony warrants
 
- Scott Forest, 46, of Dayton, Ohio, in the 3200 block of Riverside Drive as a fugitive from justice in Arkansas
 
- James Whitehead, 48, in the 1400 block of 7th Avenue, on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance
 
- Kevin Mallory, 31, at the intersection of 15th Street and 7th Avenue, for possession of a controlled substance
 
- Ira Moore, 59, turned himself in on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant
 
- Johnny Brumfield, 45, in the 1100 block of Monroe Avenue, after nearly striking a police vehicle. He had to be assisted in standing up. He was chargd with DUI.
 
- Regina Hadden, 54, in the 1600 block of 8th Avenue on a felony indictment and soliciting prostitution
 
- Ralph Croft, 31, of Detroit, Michigan, in the 1000 block of Hal Greer Blvd. on a Lawrence County, Ohio, fugitive from justice warrant
 
- Lisa Miles, 39, of Kenova, at the intersection of 10th Street and 8th Avenue for possession 1.5 grams of cocaine
 
- Deborah McCormick, 47, in the 600 block of 14th Street, for soliciting prostitution and obstructing an officer
 
- Gilbert Lawrence, 35, in the 800 block of 22nd Street for the misdemeanor of transferring and receiving stolen property

The following are among items reported stolen to HPD:
 
- 100 wooden picture frames from the 200 block of Adams Avenue
 
- 1997 black Toyota Corolla from the 100 block of 4th Avenue
 
- Tools after breaking a side window in the 300 block of 8th Avenue in Guyandotte. The intruders spray pained “G-DEEZZY BOYS” throughout the residence before leaving
 
- Two chain saws from the 1400 block of U.S. Rt. 60 East.
