Ribfest XI Features Powerboat Racing, Games, Music, Food – and… RIBS!

Huntington, WV (HNN) — The Huntington Classic Challenge, (powerboat
racing) games, music and food mostly in the form of ribs were
bringing people to the Riverfront Ribfest XI on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006.
The four-day event will conclude on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006.

Clear Channel was hosting games like Family Feud that had families searching for answers bringing much fun. A 30 second sing-off got participants entered in a drawing for American Idol tickets. When the game Bill or no Bill was announced a line of people formed quickly to participate.
On the Ohio River powerboats were qualifying for the Huntington Classic Challenge running at speeds over 100 mph. Spectators watching from the river bank seemed delighted by the racing and colorful boats.
The Huntington Classic Challenge continues on Sunday at Harris Riverfront Park in conjunction with Riverfront Ribfest XI. There will be a car show and bluegrass entertainment. An awards ceremony will take place around 5 p.m.
