After coaches and the assembled media chowed down on some steak, veggies and fixin's provided by Uno Chicago Grill, who will be catering the press box all season, Offensive Coordinator Larry Kueck took the podium. "I have high expectations this year. This is the best recruiting class we have had in the past three years. This is best offensive linemen we have had since I have been here," Kueck said.

Defensive Coordinator Steve Dunlap followed Coach Kueck and said jokingly, "If he can give me 35 points a game I will not have to worry about defense. I feel there is talent here. We are going to improve. We will be very aggressive and get after people."

Head Coach Mark Snyder was optimistic, but a little more guarded saying, "I don't have a crystal ball. I do have concerns."

Marshall 5-7 in 2006 and 4-4 in Conference USA, hopes to improve in the 2007 season. Facing opponents like Miami, Florida and nationally ranked West Virginia,[ just picked 6th in the pre-season Coach's poll, ] in the first two games will be tough tests for the Herd.

Herd football fans are excited, with a visit from WVU at home on Sept. 8 helping sell 19,000 season tickets already, smashing the previous record.

Marshall has games with New Hampshire at home on Sept 15 and visits Cincinnati on Sept. 22.

The Conference USA schedule starts in October with the Herd traveling to Memphis on Oct. 2 and Tulsa on Oct. 13,

Marshall entertains Southern Miss on Oct. 21 and Rice on Oct. 27.

On Nov. 3 the Herd travels to UCF then returns home to face East Carolina on Nov. 10. On Nov. 17 Marshall travels to Houston and then ends the regular season with UAB on Nov. 24.
