Sad Memorial for Fire Victims
Emmons Tragedy One Year Later

The worst fire disaster in more than 50 years and one of the worst tragedies ever to hit Huntington was one year ago Sunday. One the one hand it seems hard to believe it was that long ago, and on the other, hard to believe it's been only that long since an inferno tore through the Emmons Jr. apartment building and killed nine people. But it has been and January 13, 2007 will probably live in infamy in Huntington forever.
To remember and honor the dead and the firefighters who risked their own lives to assure many more didn't die, a memorial service at the now vacant site brought about 100 people together Sunday.
