Secretary of State Betty Ireland on WV Voting Machines
No Voting Machine 'Irregularities' Nationally; WV Won't Be Reporting Any Either

"Super Tuesday'' is history for another election cycle and this time there were few, if any, reports of voting machine deficiencies or snafus reported nationally. There were earlier some earlier in the year though and elections in 2004 and 2000 were legendary for voting problems attributed to ''hanging chads,'' votes under counted, not counted and such.
Never say never, but Secretary of State Betty Ireland plans on keeping West Virginians out of any such sticky situations when they vote May 13th.
As for ''paper trails,'' Ireland says WV's touch-screen voting machines have them, but you can't have one. She'll explain why. Click on the pic above to watch her interview about voting machines in West Virginia.
