Huntington Symphony Orchestra uses their musicians and the Education For Future Orchestra Related Tradition (EFFORT) program to get kids excited about music. Especially orchestral music.

Last week, in anticipation of Saturday's HSO Valentines concert, members of Lincoln Brass-- trumpet, French horn, trombone and tuba players who play with the Orchestra-- wowed a group of Southside students with their brassy musicianship. Last year the group played before nearly 3,000 area children.

In addition to being able to experience brass instruments up close and personal and learn more about them from the musicians, many of whom are teachers as well, the students received 30 free tickets for themselves and their parents to go to Saturday's concert called "Will and Romance", which will feature music and Shakespearean drama starting at 8 p.m. at the Keith Albee.
