Huntington, WV (HNN) -- The Huntington Heroes lost 34-26 to the Fayetteville Guard from North Carolina on Saturday night, May 3, 2008 at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in an American Indoor Football Association game.
The Guard defense held the Heroes to field goals instead of touchdowns when the Heroes got near the goal line several times.
The Huntington Heroes' problems that surfaced last week of paying players and management changes seem to be settling down.
A crowd estimated at about 300 people watched the game on Saturday night -- likely the lowest attendance of the season for home games.
Huntington Heroes team owner Brent Blankenship remained upbeat on Saturday night and confident that things are going in the right direction for the arena indoor football team.
