Huntington, WV (HNN) -- The Heritage Farm Museum and Village in May tradition attracted a large attendance during the day on Saturday, May 3 to see how our ancestors lived and made things at the 12th. Annual Spring Festival.
Specialists from around the country that have kept the old traditional crafts were showing and demonstrating to people how they worked. Amazingly some of these old basic methods are still in use today -- only with electronics and more sophistication.
There were gunsmiths, steam engines, washing machines, bee keepers, antique cars, tractors, wagon rides, rope making, blacksmiths and fiddle makers. Some were cooking outdoors the old fashioned way with pots over a fire. There was a petting zoo and special areas for children to enjoy like pony rides.
The heavier rains held off that were forecast and the parking area was filling up fast about noon.
