Public Employee Union Endorses Felinton for Mayor

Charleston, WV (HNN) -- The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) in West Virginia voted to endorse incumbent Mayor David Felinton in his bid for re-election as Mayor.
The endorsement statement reads: "For the past seven plus years, Mayor David Felinton has been providing Huntington with leadership that focuses on future possibilities instead of the old way of doing things. Huntington is moving forward again, for the first time in years. downtown is active, with business and economic growth and family entertainment opportunities. Huntington City finances have been in the black since 2002 and neighborhoods are being revitalized. With change comes challenges, and there is much work ahead. Mayor David Felinton has the vision and the honesty needed to stand up for working families in Huntington."

AFSCME Council 77 comprises 26 Local Unions of public workers in West Virginia, including city and state workers in the City of Huntington. The union is affiliated with the 1.4 million-member American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
