Huntington, WV (HNN) – As we continue to pray for the recovery of producer/videographer Tony Seaton, HNN believes that one of the better ways to honor a news person/artists relates to his/her work. We will be offering a retrospective of some of his best interviews/stories.

In a May 2007 story, Tony re-introduced us to one of his former co-workers at WSAZ-TV: Tim Tooten. Tooten’s the education reporter for WBAL (NBC) TV in Baltimore and an ordained minister.

“I spoke with Carter [Seaton] yesterday [Wednesday]. Our prayers are with Tony and the entire city,” Tooten wrote.

“We worked together on some exciting stories at WSAZ,” Tooten recalled reflecting back to the Jesse Jackson campaign for President.

“While we were on the campaign trail with Jesse Jackson in Logan, WV, we got word that NBC News wanted to air our story. Tony literally flew back to Huntington, between coal trucks, to get that piece cut and on the air.”

More recently, Tooten wrote of Tony coming to hear him preach at First Baptist in Huntington. “Our conversations were less about broadcasting and more about spirituality. We often talked about God’s plan for each of our lives. There was no doubt in my mind that Tony, as myself, had drawn closer to the things in life which really mattered.”

In that piece, he shared the photo here. See how many former WSAZ news personalities you can identify.

Seaton continues peacefully sleeping in the hospice portion of St. Mary’s Medical Center.
