Huntington, WV (HNN) – The July 4 Enable Project musical celebration has been moved from Hillbilly Hot Dogs to Pecker’s, 1415 Fourth Avenue, on the eastern entrance of the Upper Classman Apartment Resort. Pecker's is a recently opened nightclub that caters to the Marshall demographics and above.
Buttonflies and This Level is Clouds will perform from 9 p.m. until closing. $1 from every beer purchase will be donated to the Enable Project.
Fronted by Banana Dave who pens genre-bending hybridizing southern rock and indie-alternative tunes, the organic, soulful Buttonflies also consist of "Modest" Max Venoy on trumpet, Andrea Anderson on banjo, Mike Knight on bass, Derek "II-Tones" Watt on electric guitar, and Loren Amsbury on drums. (For a profile of the band, click: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=263085237
Having recently gotten back on tour, Clouds concerts consist of dual guitar and bass loop presentations with drum machines, live drums, and a lot of loud and fuzzy bass. The band is led by Michael Texas along with Adam Lax, David McHenry, Kori French, Andy Bixler, Joey Weaver, Eric Brown, Mike Gilmore, Mike Toth, Darren King, Tara Legg, Jay Mil, Randall Erno and Nate Penney. Their music has been labeled urgent and sparse, violent yet soothing. Click for their web site: http://www.myspace.com/thislevelisclouds
