Huntington, WV (HNN) -- The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI) has scheduled open houses for individuals interested in learning more about its nationally-certified Machinist Technology Program.

Individuals interested in the technical training program are invited to the sessions, which will focus on specialized, hands-on instruction at RCBI that prepares individuals for immediate employment and lifelong career advancement. Classes begin August 25 in Huntington, Bridgeport and Rocket Center.

The first open house is scheduled Wednesday, July 9 in Huntington. Centrally located in the heart of the city’s downtown, RCBI is on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Eleventh Street.

The Huntington event will be followed on July 15 with an open house in Rocket Center, and on July 28 with an open house in Bridgeport. The RCBI Rocket Center facility is scenically located in the Robert C. Byrd Hilltop Office Complex at the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory, 410 State Route 956, in Rocket Center (near Keyser). The RCBI Bridgeport facility is conveniently located in the Benedum Industrial Park just off U. S. Route 50.

Open Houses at each facility will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and refreshments will be served at each. Graduates will be on hand to discuss the benefits of the program, and prospective employers will have an opportunity to talk with future employees.

Information including the curriculum for the nationally recognized program will be reviewed at each, according to Larry Cartmill, technical program recruiter at RCBI.

Cartmill notes that the training will help secure a rewarding career through a proven course featuring instructors with industry-based experience.

The RCBI program boasts a 90 percent industry placement rate, with its graduates entering the work force earning wages from $10 to $16 an hour with benefits including retirement, stock options, health insurance and paid vacation.
