Law Enforcement Agencies Look for Suspects, Escapee

Huntington, WV (HNN) – Maybe it’s the heat, but multiple law enforcement agencies in the region have manhunts underway. In addition to the Huntington Police Department’s search for Roger Lewis Coleman Jr., the suspect in the Sunday shooting death of James Patrick Green III, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies and Kenova police seek a man who escaped about 3 p.m. Sunday.
Marcie Jenkins had been arrested at the Hollywood Motel on two counts of burglary; however, he escaped through a police car window not far from Interstate 64 and Dreamland Pool. A poster on WSAZ.com wrote that the suspect kicked off the police cruiser’s plastic window cover and moved wires bypassing the lock mechanism.
Jenkins had been taken to the Kenova station for questioning and apparently offered to show police where he had hid other stolen items.
Due to the proximity to Kentucky, from where he was on probation, residents in both states are urged to call police if they see him.
Meanwhile, in Charleston, officers seek four men in a red car who shot a man in the arm. The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. Monday, July 21 on McClung Street on Charleston’s eastside.
A witness told police, according to a televised report, that the victim made a cigarette purchase when the red car flew by with shots fired from it.
Two Huntington men face felony attempted robbery charges; they tried to run off without paying their cab fare. When the driver protested, they allegedly pulled a knife on him. Both men have been arrested, according to a TV news site.
