Huntington, WV (HNN) – Huntington needs a superhero. Following a shooting during the afternoon of Friday, June 25, in the 1100 block of Huntington Avenue, a frustrated citizen posted on a TV website that the city needs a real Batman to give the criminals an enema.

As details have been pieced together from dispatch, police and TV websites, apparently, one man attempted to rob another inside his apartment. The would be victim shot the intruder; the intruder shot back too.

Two men --- identified as Justin Stapleton and Wayne Cook Junior by WSAZ.com --- sustained serious wounds. A passing physician treated them in the yard outside the residence. A posting indicated that one of the men took three shots to the stomach. Law enforcement do not believe either man to have life threatening injuries.

In addition to the Huntington Avenue shooting, an armed man robbed the Aldi Grocery Store on Adams Avenue Friday afternoon and a man robbed at gunpoint late Friday night at the Speedway on Madison Avenue. The victim was using a payphone.
