Pipestem, WV (HNN) -- Take a ride on the Pipestem State Park Aerial Tramway for a little adventure that ends with peace and tranquility at the Bluestone River. There was a lot of good fall color to see on Wednesday.

The 3,600 foot long tram located in Pipestem Resort State Park goes from 2,639 feet at the top to the Bluestone River located 1,097 feet below at 1,542 feet.

The round trip costs $5.00. At the bottom there is the Mountain Creek Complex that has a restaurant and lodging for guests who want to spend the night. Both will be closing for the season soon toward the end of the month so check to make sure they are open.

The Bluestone River was lower than normal, but still looked good as it ran over the rocks in the stream with trees in fall color along the banks with a rich blue fall sky above. Several deer were seen in the vicinity. Certainly an ideal fall walk.

As usual there were a lot of nice fall scenic areas around Pipestem that gives a nice view of the hills of West Virginia. The McKeever Lodge also offers dining and lodging.
