Huntington, WV (HNN) - Get ready for an unforgettable film experience as Marshall Artists Series presents an evening of silent film, 7 p.m., Thursday, October 30 at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center. The Keith-Albee’s mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ will blaze into life at the hands of Scott Foppiano, 2007 A.T.O.S. Theatre Organist of the Year as he accompanies the classic silent film "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." Prepare to be entranced by the most tragic and beautiful love triangle in film history.

This classic, starring the man of mystery himself, Lon Chaney, tells the story of the timeless novel by Victor Hugo. The tortured and misunderstood hunchback Quasimodo dwells within the sanctuary of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Ridiculed and shunned by the world outside, he devotes his life to passionately ringing the cathedral’s famous bells as an expression of his feelings, and following the direction of the church officials. When his orders bring him to the lovely gypsy Esmeralda, Quasimodo becomes entangled in an epic struggle of lust, power, and love. His own purity and lack of prejudice make him a truly remarkable character, and his faithfulness to the unfortunate Esmeralda is both heartbreaking and beautiful. Lon Chaney gives a memorable performance as the pitiful Quasimodo, bringing an unparalleled and touching element to the famous character.
