Cabell Huntington Hospital Sponsors Medical Explorer Post Program for Students Interested in Medical Field
Pathology will be focus of November post meeting

Huntington, WV (HNN) --- Cabell Huntington Hospital invites high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in the medical field to participate in a Medical Explorer Post at the hospital.
This month's post will meet on Wednesday, November 19 at 4:30 p.m. and should last approximately an hour and a half. Students are asked to meet inside the hospital's entrance at the Marshall University Medical Center. During this event, students will explore the field of Pathology (the science of the origin/nature of diseases) and Histology (the branch of biology dealing with tissues).
Cabell Huntington Hospital's Laboratory has the equipment and staff to complete various tests to diagnose, treat and prevent diseases. The Lab performs testing in the areas of hematology, chemistry, microbiology, cytology, histology and virology.
Linda Brown, MD, a pathologist with University Pathology Services and Cabell Huntington Hospital and Virginia Maynard, a Cabell Huntington histology technician, will conduct the event and share their knowledge in these fields.
Medical Explorer is a program for students ages 14-20 who are interested in medical services. Students will take part in workshops and hands-on experiences and listen to guest speakers from Cabell Huntington Hospital. Medical Explorers meet once a month.
