Marshall Men Down Rio Grande 92-59

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- Marshall's men's basketball team won over Rio Grande, Ohio 92-59 at Cam Henderson Center on Tuesday evening, Feb. 10, 2009.
Even though the score was what most expected the RedStorm did have their moments in the early going actually having the lead with the Herd having to fight back to tie the game at 25-25.
"Did anyone get a picture of the scoreboard?" asked Rio Grande Head Basketball Coach Ken French that was smiling when his team had the lead.
The stronger Herd from that point got things together and took the lead and never looked back. At the end of the first period the score was 46-29 in favor of Marshall.
Marshall was able to play all their players and give them some playing experience before the attendance of 3,973.
Marshall is now 11-13 for the season and 3-6 in Conference USA. Rio Grande is 17-11 for the season and 4-6 in the American Mideast Conference.
