Huntington, WV (HNN) – Celebrating the release of the unprecedented Dreamworks 3-D animation flick, “Monsters v. Aliens,” Marquee Cinemas along with Pullman Square neighbors hosted a Saturday afternoon party.
Little Victories had animals available for adoption. Of course, if you wanted to take home the big black canine, you would feel bad not taking her “son.” One volunteer told an animal browser, “What another dog if you already have four?” A volunteer mentioned that she had her own cats and was “fostering” 17 until homes could be found for them.
For those unable to adopt, you could still take part in a $1 balloon pop to win prizes from McDonalds, Edible Arrangements, Empire Books, Funny Bone Comedy Club and Parking Solutions.
Children entered a “Monsters” related coloring contest. In addition, 200 children received a free kid’s creation at Cold Stone Creamery.
Continuing with the “Monsters v. Aliens” celebration, Marquee Highlands 14, Wheeling, allowed patrons to play the Xbox or PS3 game free in their lobby through March 29 (donations benefit the Brandon Richmond family) and held “Dance Dance Revolution” Tournaments, Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29.
Coming to the Wheeling area location, April 7 will be a Red Cross Blood Drive from 12 noon until 6 p.m. Donors receive a free box of popcorn and 12 ounce drink.
At Marquee’s Commons 8, Wytheville, Va., the Saturday event included face painting, coloring contests, and a live petting zoo.
Finally, the theatres are co-sponsoring chances to win “Monsters v. Aliens” gift packs. Visit: http://www.marqueecinemas.com/Promotions/tabid/207/Default.aspx to enter.
