Manchin, Wolfe, Kopp, Miss WV USA Plant Tree on Earth Day to Dedicate New Community Gardens

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin, Huntington Mayor Kim Wolfe, Marshall University President Stephen J. Kopp and Miss West Virginia United States 2009 Britanni Mills all joined in to plant a tree at the Huntington Community Gardens located at the corner of Hal Greer Blvd. and 10th Ave to celebrate Earth Day and dedicate the Huntington Community Gardens on Wednesday afternoon, April 22, 2009.

A good crowd of people came for the ceremony that had a lot of activities for children. Many tables set up had a Earth Day theme. Big Sandy Superstore and Home Depot also assisted in sponsoring the project. A good contingent of Home Depot employees were evident in their orange shirts that supplied the digging shovels.
 
Sisters of the Heart played the Native American Flag Song and Veteran's Honor Song. Eva Motley presented a poem.
 
Miss West Virginia United States 2009 Britanni Mills found her self busy signing autographs and having her photograph taken with her many fans that ranged from children to adults.
