Her confidence is that of a top athlete competing for a championship as she prepares for the national Miss United States pageant that will run from July 10-17. This pageant will end her successful nine year run of winning pageants.

Britanni said, "I am keeping my fingers crossed and hopefully I will win. This is it for me. I hope to go out with a big bang. Miss West Virginia has not won a national title in a long time."

"If you win a national title who knows what doors can open. I understand you get opportunities to go all over the country. This has been in the back of my mind for a long time There are a lot opportunities there. You don't know what can happen. if a door or window opens like that I would jump."

"I want everything to be perfect. This will be my last chance. I have been doing this for a long time."

"I have as good of a chance to win as any of the other girls. I want to win. I am excited and get chills thinking about it. This is my chance to see what can happen. I want to do my part I work hard. We will see what happens. "

Britanni's pageant experience, conversational skills, fitness and good looks are impressive and should make her an excellent contestant for the national title where scoring is based on an interview, evening gown and swimsuit segments. Each segment counts 1/3 of the point total.

Competing at the national level can be tough with contestants scoring so close the difference can be one small detail. The judges have their preferences too and it can be a case where a different panel of judges may select a different winner.

Britanni recalled how her interest in pageantry started, "I was on the Huntington Mall Fashion Advisory Board in my senior year in high school (Cabell Midland High School 2001). The lady in charge of the fashion board was also in charge of the Cabell County Fair Queen Pageant."

"She asked me to compete. I did not have a clue of what I was doing. I thought OK, whatever. I did the pageant. It was my first pageant and I won. From that I got the pageant bug"

Since that first win Britanni remarkably has won a pageant crown for nine years in a row.

Her crowns include the 2001 Cabell County Fair Queen, 2002 Barboursville Fall Fest Queen, 2003 West Virginia Timber and Wood Queen, 2004 Parkersburg Homecoming Queen, 2005 West Virginia Homecoming Queen, 2006 Three Rivers Festival Queen, 2007 South Charleston Summerfest Queen, 2008 Calhoun County Wood Festival Queen and her current title of 2009 Miss West Virginia United Sates.

Britanni said, "I have lost ten times more than I have won. From that I have learned how to become a good loser. You can't win everything. You can't win every time. I have learned how to become a graceful loser. That teaches you a lot about yourself. I have made numerous close friendships with girls from other parts of the the agate that I would have never had a chance to meet."

"I have enjoyed my pageant career. It has been successful. I have lost a ton of times and won a few times, It was worked out well" I have enjoyed the competitions, the pageantry and the friendships with the girls,."

"I kind of do my own thing. In the nine years I have been in pageantry it has changed. It used to be huge hair, one year it was pony tails and one year it was flat hair. It has been different things and the gowns have changed. I have always tried to keep it me and what I like. There are a lot of personal skills you learn that help you in everyday life."

She said, "I enjoy the competition part of pageants. Some people say, OK if I win OK if I lose. and I will make friendships. That is a great part of it. "

"For me when I go to compete in the show I go to win. You would not enter the pageant if you did not want to win. I always want to win."

"You certainly learn how to speak in front of people. I still get nervous before I compete. I have gotten on stage and spoke in front of a lot of people."

On the impromptu questions Britanni said, "When I first started I used to memorize my answers. Now I have got to the point that I am more confident. I have grown more. Now, I can talk without studying anything."

Britanni also stays in shape with exercise and diet. She graduated from Marshall University studying to be a dietician in December of 2008 with a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree.

She said, "I do the diet. I lift weights five days a week I lift fairly heavy. I enjoy lifting. I do not like to do the cardio part. I do not like to run, but I make myself do it."

Her diet consists of egg whites and oatmeal for breakfast, chicken, broccoli, asparagus and lots of fish. There is no gunk like catsup, salad dressings or butter. A lot of things are dry and plain,

"Britanni said, "I love food and sweets are my weakness. The diet is a life style change. You get used to it."

Britanni keeps a realistic attitude will striving to be the best, "No, I have my faults. I am not Miss West Virginia all the time. When you are out and making your appearances. you are polite and on your best behavior."

"I do not run around in high heels and makeup every day..." I am kind of a simple person. I do have lazy days where I stay on the couch and watch TV. I am a typical girl, "

"I have had the opportunity to do a lot of things...i graduated from Marshall and I am proud of that. I will be able to tell my grandkids I was Miss West Virginia."

"I have gained a lot of confidence through pageantry like someone playing sports. Pageantry happens to be my sport and I have done well."

After her pageant career Britanni may get into fitness competitions.

Britanni said, "I enjoy being in a gym. I have got iron in my blood. I will be sixty years old and still have a gym membership somewhere. "
