Huntington Celebrates West Virginia's 146th Birthday

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- The Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District (GHPRD) celebrated West Virginia's 146th birthday with a cake cutting, entertainment and Collis P. Huntington portrayed by James E. Casto on Saturday, June 20, 2009.
About 50 people came to Heritage Village to see the excellent portrayal by Casto. It also gave them a chance to visit the recently opened new offices of the Cabell-Huntington Convention and Visitors Bureau. Huntington Mayor Kim Wolfe read a proclamation and Park GHPRD Director James L, McClelland followed by reading a proclamation from West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin.
Collis P. Huntington cut the cake with the first piece going to Mayor Wolfe and the second piece going to Park Board President Stacy Wehrle.
